It’s rare to see me without a camera. It’s the one way I feel I can capture time without letting it passing me by. Photographs give me the ability to savor, relive and share a moment. One that I will always cherish—even if I don’t feel like I did it justice at the time.
I’ve always been one of those people who wants to jam as many experiences into one lifetime as humanly possible and I have. The trouble is; I haven’t always had the energy to savor those moments the way I would like. And so, in our overachieving world that never seems to come up for air, I thought it was important that we had an issue simply entitled, Play.
It’s been so much fun to put together this issue. I’ve had the chance to work with some of my favorite creative people to
develop concepts, shoots and editorials. From our gorgeous model, Lindsey Coffey, who happily jumped on top of playground equipment to fulfill my “creative vision” to our wonderful lineup of designers. This is issue is about doing all those things you’ve never made the time to do like apple picking or being a tourist in your own backyard.
As 2015 looms in the not-too-distant future, I think it’s important that we’re able to reflect and make positive changes about how we choose to live our lives. Wasting time doing something that makes you happy is okay. Remembering to laugh is highly encouraged. Spending time with people who love and inspire you: an essential ingredient to staying young. We hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.
Until next time, may your heels be as high as your standards.
