THE POWER PART

YEARNING FOR THE PERFECT PART? TONY WHITE, FROM RYAN DARIUS SALON, TELLS US HOW.

We’ve seen slick, parted hair on the runways for two seasons now, can anyone rock this trend? I would say that the slicked part is a one-size-fits-all type of hair style and if done correctly, will look amazing.

What’s the key to getting the perfect part? The key to getting the perfect part is using the correct tools and the Rat Tail Comb is the best tool for the perfect part. This is due to having a pointed end that makes it easy get a clean part. It also depends on if you are going for the wet look then it is all about the products and if not, a blow dryer and brush.

Are there any products you would recommend to make sure the part stays put? For a wet look use a great holding gel like Oribe’s Rock Hard Gel. The Rock Hard Gel is great because when it dries it does still give you a wet sleek look and after it has dried you can brush it out without the flack-age. If you prefer a the more dry look with a defined part, still use the rat tail comb to define the part where you want and then blow dry part in place, that will make sure your part stays.

What if you have short hair, can you still do a variation of the power part? The power part can absolutely work for short same rules do apply as long hair.

Any pet peeves when it comes to the power part? The only thing the peeves me is a great outfit with bad hair!
