Meet Abigail Youdim the creative force behind Ya Jewelry. Based in Tel Aviv, her design philosophy is that jewelry can go beyond being merely a decorative element, to become a delicate bridge linking the human body with universal beauty. We caught up with this talented designer in today's designer talk.
What are you listening to right now? Lately I've been listening to "Noname" she's a female hip hop artist I happened to see performing live in Tel Aviv one night. Since then, I'm obsessed with her album "Telefone."
What’s one piece of jewelry you never leave home without? I'm almost never caught without my diamond skull ear cuff, it's so small and comfortable, I don't feel it when it's on me, so naturally it has become an integral part of my body. I believe when this happens to someone with a piece of jewelry, its kind of like magic.
If you had to choose, would it be silver or gold? I love sterling silver and solid gold. Each material has its own unique properties. It's lucky though, that silver isn't as expensive as gold, otherwise I'd probably be broke by now!
What’s one thing people would never guess about you? I'm very shy on the outside, so people get surprised when they see my goofy side, I love being silly, and I have a weird sens of humor.
“Priceless” to you means… Priceless to me is the thought, time and effort that goes into the design process.
