WANT Les Essentiels and Garrett Leight California Optical, two brands with an inherent focus on design, craftsmanship and attention to detail, have come together for the first time to create a limited edition capsule collection that stylishly fuses the core characteristics and sensibilities of each brand.

The collection consists of two frames and one sun clip. Garrett Leight’s iconic, vintage-inspired Wilson frame served as the basis for the collaboration, with WANT Les Essentiels adding a stylish leather lens trim in each of their signature colors, black and mocha. Black leather is paired with unique oil/vinegar acetate temples, while mocha is paired with matte demi tortoise acetate temples, and both styles feature custom end piece. Eschewing seasonality, these frames are modern classics, timeless in every respect.

With functionality being at the core of this collection, Garrett Leight and WANT Les Essentiels co-founders Byron and Dexter Peart aligned with the aim of creating a multipurpose frame. Each frame can be paired with a clip that features a mirror sunglass lens, allowing wearers greater flexibility in use. The capsule also includes an exclusive, limited edition WANT Les Essentiels designed black leather clip case which comes with the folding metal sunglass clip.

Contrasting gold and silver detailing is a central design feature for both brands—for WANT Les Essentiels it can be seen in their signature gold and silver zipper, while for GLCO it adds a unique touch to their hinges. As a result, alternating gold and silver throughout the collection adds a subtle yet distinctive twist.

The WANT Les Essentiels x Garrett Leight capsule collection will be sold at Garrett Leight’s LA, NY and SF stores and, WANT Les Essentiels NY and, and additional fine retailers worldwide from April. The collaboration frames are each priced at $525, the sun clip is priced at $235.
