Hailing from around the globe, Federica Cavenati creates clothing that crosses cultures to form chic, wearable fashion. Her Spring/Summer 2016 collection is an embodiment of the designer; on-trend, fearless, and laden with gorgeous neutrals. The designer talked to Heaven Has Heels about what inspires her, her time studying women's wear and, her greatest achievement to date. Oh, and Pokemon Go, of course.

How did you become involved in fashion design?

I have always been very creative from a young age. Clothes and fabrics have been a fascination from a early point. I pursued fine art another passion of mine which lead to fashion illustration and design. From that point I became very interested in draping and cutting clothes and followed with enrolling in a degree in women's wear design.

What materials do you most like to work with?

I really love to experiment with materials, to manipulate them and take them away from their original state. I play a lot with leathers and rigid fabric. Sculpt them and create almost works of art.

How does your geographical location influence your atheistic?

I have always loved London and it was always a dream growing up to be located there. It is such an inspirational city. Although the weather seems to inspire autumn winter collections more than spring summer.

What’s been your greatest professional achievement to date?

I think my biggest personal achievement was winning the best collection award at university with my graduate collection. After such an intense 3 years of work it was most defiantly a big achievement and sense of satisfaction. I was selected as the most outstanding collection from the London school and the collection was then taken to Milan to show during Milan fashion week.

What’s one thing people would never guess about you?

I'm currently on the hunt for pikachu on Pokemon go
