Johny Dar transforms Emma Watson's ordinary denim for a good cause.

The brainchild of artist and designer Johny Dar, Jeans for Refugees is an artistic collaboration that's using the universal medium of denim to raise money for a worthy cause. Over 100 celebrities from the world of fashion, film, music and the arts donated both men’s and women’s jeans to be painted by Dar and exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery in London before being auctioned to raise funds for the International Rescue Committee.

Having already shown in Berlin, a packed house filled the New York Fashion Week venue The Arc, for a sneak peek of Dar’s creations. Models walked to a live performance by Polly A and band as painted jeans hit the runway from the likes of Anna Wintour, Daniel Radcliffe, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman, Claudia Schiffer, Benicio del Toro, Elle MacPherson, Emma Watson, Eva Longoria, Florence Welch, Karlie Kloss, Karolina Kurkova, Kate Moss, Rachel McAdams, Sharon Stone, Sofia Coppola, Tuppence Middleton, Twiggy and Victoria Beckham. Dar intermingled select pieces from his couture line to glam up the ready-to-wear vibe. Full-length gowns, geometric cut-out pant suits and flowing florals added depth to the mix. All the pieces which will be auctioned off for a cause Dar—and the world—is passionate about. JohnyDar.com@AngelaGilltrap
