Never underestimate the power of a good cut. Celebrity stylist and owner of Ryan Darius Salon, Ryan Nickulas, shares his secrets to looking ten pounds lighter without breaking a sweat.

HOW IT’S DONE: “The goal is to elongate the shape of your haircut,” explains Nickulas. “To achieve this your hair would need to be layered in a way that will remove the excess weight and slim down the overall silhouette of the cut. A parting closer to the center also tends to slim facial features.”

CELEBRITIES ROCKING THE SLIM CUT: “Women with a strong jawline like Khloé Kardashian and Jessica Simpson have been rocking a center part with soft pieces no shorter than their jaw bone, for that elongating effect,” says Nickulas. “For women who like a little more movement around the face, a soft long fringe could do the trick.”

“Jennifer Lawrence has worn the perfect fringe to frame her face. Parted slightly in the middle and cut with a steep angle resting perfectly across her cheekbones.
